Howto – Login to Ubuntu Virtual Desktop

This document will explain the process of logging into a Ubuntu-based Virtual Private Desktop.

1. Open the Microsoft RDP Client.
   • See Figure 1
2. Put the address of your Ubuntu Desktop in the “Computer” line.
   1. This will be in the form of 192.173.156.142:xxxx where xxxx is your RDP number.
   2. See Figure 2
3. Enter your username (administrator) and password assigned to your Virtual Desktop
   1. Note that the username is case sensitive.

4. Be sure to properly logout when you are done as only one RDP session can be opened at a time. This is a limitation of X-RDP.
